1942年夏到1943年春，河南发生大旱灾，夏秋两季大部绝收。图片均为1943年2月底至3月初，美国《纽约时报》记者福尔曼与《时代》周刊记者白修德在河南灾区实地采访时拍摄的照片。

　　1942 年夏到1943年春，河南发生大旱灾，夏秋两季大部绝收。大旱之后，又遇蝗灾。饥荒遍及全省110个县。据估计，1000万众的河南省，有300万人饿死，另有300万人西出潼关做流民，沿途饿死、病死、扒火车挤踩摔（天冷手僵从车顶上摔下来）轧而死者无数。图片均为1943年2月底至3月初，美国《纽约时报》记者福尔曼与《时代》周刊记者白修德在河南灾区实地采访时拍摄的照片。

那时候不止是河南啊，其他好多地方也这样，记得爸爸和我说我们老家附件一个村子最后死了人以后活着的人都没有力气往外抬了，一个村子死了一半以上
让咱们祈祷吧，也好好珍惜现在的生活
